Based on the types of questions the department received from tax practitioners during 2012, we have a Best Practices list for tax year 2012 individual income tax, which includes input from tax professionals. The purpose is to help tax professionals avoid phone calls from clients about income tax filing letters from the Department of Revenue. Errors and omissions on returns can lead to delays in return review. The department has to ask taxpayers for additional information. To avoid processing delays, practitioners are encouraged to review the Best Practices. The tips are available through the department’s Taxation Web site, www.TaxColorado.com
